UA Local 68 was chartered in 1892 and serves the Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Bryan, College Station, Victoria, Rio Grande Valley and the 62 surrounding counties with the same principals they were founded on 124+ years ago: recruiting the right people, providing the best training, serving their members, serving the community and protecting the health of the nation.
As a testament to their dedication to recruitment and education, they recently added $3.5M in expansions to their training center to accommodate 600+ apprentices. This commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed either: many of their apprentice & journeyman training hours may now be applied toward college credits for various degrees.
The Local 68 partnered with signatory contractors to deliver sophisticated piping systems to the end user. The level of skill and professionalism they bring to these jobs is vital to the infrastructure of the community. Advanced training allows them to work with signatories in many construction industries – heavy industrial, commercial and residential sectors.
Their reputation is built on four key principles: quality, safety, environmental/community stewardship and worker protection.
